Hematology/Oncology

Palm Beach Pathology together with our sister lab, UniPath in Denver, Colorado, offer a sophisticated hematopathology program that includes academic-caliber dedicated hematopathologists, a state-of-the-art flow cytometry department, a large library of antibodies, and ancillary studies for an accurate prognosis of malignancies. We also offer comprehensive workups and well-designed, integrated, concise reports with the results of all studies, including morphology, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, genetics, chromosome analysis, FISH, and other molecular tests.

Our hematopathology department is led by Mitchell Bitter, M.D., a well-published and nationally recognized hematopathologist. Dr. Bitter previously held professorship positions at the University of Chicago and University of Colorado Medical Schools, and was also assistant director of hematopathology at the University of Chicago and director of hematopathology and clinical hematology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Bitter has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals in the areas of leukemia and lymphoma, and is also the author of several book chapters
